1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using DocuSearch AI ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

DocuSearch AI provides AI-powered document digitization services, including:

Optical Character Recognition (OCR) for PDFs, images, and documents
Document embedding and vector search (Collections)
AI-powered document chatbot for querying embedded documents
Cloud storage integration (e.g., Dropbox) for file import

3. User Accounts

You must register an account to use the Service. You are responsible for:

Providing accurate and complete registration information
Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
All activities that occur under your account
Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.

4. Subscription Plans and Payment

The Service offers multiple subscription tiers with varying features and usage limits. By subscribing to a paid plan:

You agree to pay the applicable fees as displayed at the time of subscription
Subscriptions are billed monthly from the date of subscription
Usage beyond your plan's included pages is charged at pay-per-use rates
Prices are in Euros (EUR) and may be updated with 30 days' notice
Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis; contact support for requests

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable laws
Upload malicious files, malware, or content designed to harm the Service
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
Use the Service to process documents you do not have the right to process
Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service
Circumvent usage limits, rate limiting, or other technical restrictions
Resell or redistribute access to the Service without written permission

6. Your Content and Intellectual Property

You retain full ownership of all documents and content you upload to the Service. By uploading content:

You grant us a limited license to process your content solely for providing the Service
We do not claim ownership of your documents or OCR output
You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload and process any content
OCR results, embeddings, and chat responses derived from your content belong to you

7. Data Processing

To provide OCR and AI features, your documents may be processed by third-party AI services (currently Mistral AI). We minimize data shared with third parties to what is necessary for processing. See our Privacy Policy for full details on data handling.

8. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to:

Scheduled maintenance (we aim to provide advance notice)
Unforeseen technical issues or outages
Third-party service disruptions (AI providers, cloud infrastructure)

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:

The accuracy or completeness of OCR results
The accuracy of AI chatbot responses
That the Service will meet your specific requirements
That the Service will be error-free or uninterrupted

You should always review OCR output for accuracy, especially for critical documents.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, DocuSearch AI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or business opportunities arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if:

You violate these Terms of Service
Your account is used for fraudulent or abusive purposes
Required by law or regulatory action

Upon termination, your access to the Service will cease. You may request export of your data before account closure.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the Service at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the European Union and the applicable member state where DocuSearch AI operates. Any disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction.
